About Flink
Flink is an independent catalog of free and open-source software, written for people who want to use good tools rather than build them.
What we do
We review open-source programs and describe them in plain language: what problem a program solves, who will enjoy using it, and what its limitations are. Each review links to the project's official website or source repository, so you can download the original release and check the code yourself.
What we are not
We are not the developers of any program listed in the catalog and we do not distribute software. Project names are used only to identify the software being reviewed and belong to their respective owners. We do not use project logos.
How programs are selected
- The source code is public under a recognised open-source license.
- The project is actively maintained.
- Regular users can install and run it without building it from source.
- Your data can be exported in an open or documented format.
Corrections
Open-source projects move quickly, and details such as licenses, supported platforms or features can change. We review entries periodically, but if you notice something out of date, the official project page is always the authoritative source.
